From the Desk of the President It has been a year full of glory, full of blessings, filled with both beautiful moments, and moments of heartbreak. During the past year we completed our second successful Bible Study, "If You Want to Walk on Water You've Got to Get out of the Boat" by John Ortberg. We also completed our first ladies' luncheon with wonderful guest speaker, Sharon Patterson, author of "Healing for the Holes in Our Souls." Sharon blessed our hearts with her open honest humor about the way we as women see ourselves versus the way God sees us. Our first budget and finance classes were completed in September of 2008, and will be expanded in 2010. As for the future, this spring we will have some wonderful educational nights, as well as some "Girls' Game Nights" with inspirational devotionals. Currently we are working on another guest speaker for our Mother/Daughter Banquet in May 2010. It is also our goal to make tremendous progress on the publishing and distribution of my first book, "The Gem." I will be devoting a great deal of 2010 to the writing and publication of this book. Please be in prayer for this project. On a personal note, this year was filled with the beautiful marriage of my daughter, Kassi to her boyfriend Kevin in November 2009. It was the most beautiful moment, and a Mom's answered prayer. May God bless them for years to come, and may they always put God in the center of their lives and their marriage. Click here for photos from the wedding. This year was also filled with the heartbreaking death of my beloved Father. No words can express the depth of my loss. It has also been a difficult year for my Mom, suffering the loss of her spouse of fifty-six years, as well as suffering a detached retina in her right eye.
