Its not an easy job being a PRINCESS but somebodys got to DO IT! Thats my life theme (its on my keychain), although my family begs to differ. I was raised in Grand Prairie, Texas where my husband Kevin and I now reside with our two "children" Peggy (the Dachshund) and Coco (Dachshund not pictured). I am the oldest of five children and the only girl. When I was growing up, church was not a big priority in our home; however, my mother was adamant that my brother and I attend a Christian school. I became aware of my parents struggles when I was in the fifth grade, so it was no surprise when my parents divorced a week before my high school graduation. Needless to say that put a real damper on things. A few years later my father remarried, which is where the other three brothers come in. During my parents marriage, my mother struggled with depression and OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). After the divorce, she slowly began to deteriorate even more. In 2003, I moved out on my own while still helping to support my mother and brother financially. In 2004, I noticed a major decrease in my mothers condition and at the age of 25, I had to commit my 49 year old mother to a mental hospital. After several stays in different hospitals, my mother ended in a nursing home with 24 hour care. During that time, I faithfully attended church and was the leader of the singles ministry. While leading this class, I met Kevin, who I married in April of 2006. I currently struggle with anxiety/depression fatigue and continue to experience grief from my mothers situation. My mother passed away in January of 2009 at the young age of 53. With my husband and counselors assistance, I continue to travel the road of healing. It is my hope through this ministry to share these experiences to help others who suffer from similar struggles. I currently work as a nanny and am working on publishing a children's book series called Pitiful Peggy. Yes, it is about my dogs!! =)
